Abubakar Tahiru, a Ghanaian student, has entered his name in the Guinness World Records.
Abubakar, a forestry student at Auburn University, USA, currently holds the record for the highest number of trees hugged by an individual.
His remarkable feat allowed him to hug a total of 1,123 trees in one hour.
The record attempt occurred in Auburn, Alabama, USA, on March 25, 2024, in the Pleasant Hills of the Tuskegee National Forest.
Elated, Tahiru took to his Facebook page to announce the achievement.
Guinness World Records It has also confirmed the milestone on its website, praising Abubakar’s passion for promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.
GWR announced that Abubakar’s true love for trees was the driving force behind his ambitious endeavour.
