Dreams FC had beaten the Malian giants 1-2 away from home in the first leg before drawing 1-1 in Kumasi on Sunday.
Zamalek also beat Egyptian Modern Future FC 3-2 on aggregate and will now face the Ghanaian team in the semi-finals.
Zamalek will host the first leg in Cairo on April 21, while the second leg is scheduled for April 28 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Dreams FC are the first Ghanaian team to reach the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup since Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in the competition’s first edition in 2004.
Meanwhile, former Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla (CK) Akonnor believes Dreams FC have what it takes to win this year’s CAF Confederations Cup.
“Dreams FC are succeeding and have made Ghana proud. The audacity and confidence with which they play is something to behold.” Akonnor told Akoma FM, as quoted by 3Sports.
“I think they will win the competition the way they are doing. We must all lend our support to them. “We should all be proud of the players for showing solidity and unity, and we should support them to reach the final and possibly win the championship.”
Although the Still Believe Boys are making their debut in Africa, they have surprised many without their impressive performances.
